Drive Cars Down A Hill Hydrochapter Guide
Depot farm, processing area, dam, and why this industrial world pays better than Dunes.
Hydrochapter is the industrial downhill, the place with a depot, a processing maze, and a dam that people either farm or bounce off for ten minutes. Official Drive Cars Down A Hill copy lists four levels and more than 80 miles of track. Hydrochapter is the one that prints cash once you stop treating Dunes like a job. Mally’s Studios still runs this in 25-player servers, so expect other chassis in the depot fork and wrecks in the water.
This page is the world: how you unlock it, what Depot is for, what the processing area and dam feel like, and how the chapter differs from Day 1. The exact 100k reset is written as a loop on the cash farm page. If you cannot steer yet, go back to getting started and controls. If you are still collecting Ghosttown badges, finish the Dunes walkthrough first.
Unlock, then stop sightseeing
Hydrochapter is locked until you have progressed far enough through the older worlds. Drive Dunes until teleports start appearing, push Bunk Laps if that is on your path, and keep going until Hydrochapter and Depot show up in the teleport UI. You do not farm this chapter by spawning a Jalopy in Dunes Start and wishing. You unlock it, then you jump.
North Nevada is a newer desert world with abandoned commercial zones and its own hydroelectric dam. It is a sibling, not a synonym. People mix the two because both have water infrastructure. If the teleport says Hydrochapter, you are in the farm world. If it says North Nevada, you are in the newer sandbox. Forest Chapter is deleted and unplayable; do not hunt it. The maps and chapters index keeps the four live levels straight.
Once Depot is on the list, that is your respawn. Unlocking a dam checkpoint is useful for a full clear. It is not required for the money loop.
Depot
Depot is a yard with multiple outbound paths. The farm uses the second-to-the-right path. That is the one you drive until cash increases by about 100,000, then you teleport back to Depot and do it again. You may respawn your car between loops. You should respawn it if the last wreck is sitting in the fork.
Depot is also where weak cars tell on themselves. A $100M Cougar at 250 MPH can be a liability on water and clutter. A controllable fast daily will finish the 100k chunk. Ten loops is about $1,000,000, which is Sand Bruiser FJ45 money or a down payment on Kuban and Daytona Stock Car. Contract-class shop goals are why people live here. Count loops in the cash planner instead of guessing.
Do not occupy Depot as a clan parking lot. Community rules still apply: no clanning, no witch-hunting. Gravity Coil still disables cash earning, which makes a Depot session worthless if you forget the pass is equipped. That warning is also on crash survival and gamepasses.
Processing area
Past the farm fork, Hydrochapter becomes a factory. Players complain about metal lake stretches, trash furnaces, and maze-like indoor driving. This is where V2 crash models earn their keep. Suspension bends on rails and ramps. Wheels rip off on corners that Dunes dirt would have forgiven. Engines ignite when you pin a car in a bottleneck with two other drivers.
The processing area is why Hydrochapter feels longer than Dunes even when the farm loop is short. A full clear is a different hobby from a 100k reset. If you are learning the chapter, do one sightseeing run with a cheap car you can afford to lose, then go back to Depot for money. If you are speedrunning the dam, bring a car from the best cars list that still has steering after a wall, not only a speed ranking monster.
Checkpoints exist deeper in the chapter than they used to. Older clips show snipers or instant-fail moments that later patches softened. Trust the current teleport list more than a 2024 video. The revamped walkthrough on this page is a full run, not the farm. Use it to see the layout, then return to Depot.
Dam
The dam is the landmark and the skill check. Water punishes missing ramps. Height punishes bad cameras. Other players punish anyone who stops on the only dry line. Comments on long clears often split the chapter into “before the dam” and “after the dam.” After the dam is where people burn 100 tries. That is fine for a completionist. It is a bad farm.
If you came to Hydrochapter to beat the map, treat the dam like Dunes’ river jump with more verticality: pick a line, commit, teleport when the chassis is already dead. If you came to buy a Coupe, you should not be on the dam at all. You should be on the second-to-the-right Depot path. Mix those goals and you will remember the chapter as “hard” instead of as the best legitimate money machine in the game.
North Nevada also shows a hydroelectric dam in its desert-and-commercial mix. Do not teleport there expecting the Depot loop. The farm is Hydrochapter-specific.
How Hydrochapter differs from Dunes
Dunes is sand, cacti, Soviet ghost streets, four sniper towers, and badges named Dunes, Ghosttown, and Overgrowth. It teaches ramps, mines, and when to quit. Cash per minute is worse once you know Depot.
Hydrochapter is industrial: depot yard, processing maze, dam. Snipers are not the headline. Water and geometry are. Style still pays, and faster plus style still equals more money, but the style is a factory jump rather than a cactus near-miss. You will use teleport more. You will respawn cars more. You will spend less time in a sniper sightline and more time deciding whether a wreck is blocking the farm fork.
Bunk Laps is the industrial wasteland between them, useful as a backup grind for weaker cars, not as the 100k machine. Weekly 125 to 170 MPH trucks can be toys in any chapter. Rabbit at $1 and 38 MPH is still a joke. Cougar, Contact, and Raccoon at $100M belong in the vehicle roster fantasy, not in your first Hydrochapter hour. Starter vehicles still matter because a stable mid-tier car farms this chapter better than a fragile top speed.
V1 brick cars versus V2 3D crash models matters more on rails and walls than on Dunes dirt. 4Car1Map already moved remaining V1 cars onto V2 internals, so you are driving segmented damage even if the name looks old.
Scripts that skip the dam belong on scripts, auto-farm, vehicle tools, and how to execute. Codes are empty as of September 2026; group rewards and how to redeem are the freebie path. Updates, latest, and weekly vehicles will tell you if a Saturday truck changes Depot. Official links and the guides hub are the rest of the map.
Treat Hydrochapter as a factory floor. Unlock it, live at Depot for money, visit the dam when you want a clear, and stop pretending Dunes is still the grind. The second-to-the-right path is the job. The dam is the postcard.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for downhill runs, cash, and cars.
How do I unlock Hydrochapter?
Progress far enough through the older worlds until Hydrochapter and Depot appear in the teleport UI. You cannot farm it from a fresh Dunes Jalopy.
Where is the cash farm inside this chapter?
Teleport to Depot, take the second-to-the-right path, drive until cash jumps about 100k, teleport back. Full steps: cash farm.
Is the dam the farm?
No. The dam is the skill check for a full clear. The farm is the short Depot loop. Mixing them wastes time.
How is this different from Dunes?
Dunes is desert, snipers, and badges. Hydrochapter is depot, processing, and a dam, with better cash per minute once unlocked.
Is Hydrochapter the same as North Nevada?
No. North Nevada is a newer world that also has a hydroelectric dam. The documented 100k loop is Hydrochapter Depot.
Can I still play Forest Chapter to reach this?
No. Forest Chapter is deleted and unplayable. Use the four live levels listed on maps and chapters.
